the Nurses Week Celebrations 2026, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow

organized a series of academic and health awareness programmes aimed at highlighting the pivotal role of nurses in healthcare delivery, patient safety, and community well-being. The celebrations were conducted in alignment with the International Nurses Day-2026 theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The celebrations commenced with “NutriFest – “Healthy Diet with Millet Delight” on 05 May 2026 focussing on promoting healthy dietary practices and creating awareness regarding the nutritional benefits of millets in the prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. Maj Gen Subrato Sen, SM, MG Med graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Nursing cadets of the College of Nursing conducted informative exhibitions, nutrition awareness sessions, and demonstrations of millet- based recipes, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition in preventive healthcare.

On 07 May 2026, an “Arrhythmia Workshop” was organized by Nursing cadets, Trainee Officers and Nursing Officers focussing on the identification, interpretation, and management of various cardiac arrhythmias. Practical exposure in ECG interpretation, emergency cardiac care, and arrhythmia management protocols were done. Brig Vikas Srivastav, Dean and Deputy Commandant, Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The “Nurses Day programme” was held on 11 May 2026 honouring the dedication, compassion, and tireless service rendered by nurses towards society and patient care. Maj Gen Subrato Sen, SM, MG Med, HQ Central Command. Dr Ashok Bishnoi, Dean Nursing Faculty ABVMU and Brig Parveen Rani, Brig MNS HQ Central Command appreciated the invaluable contribution of nursing professionals and motivated nursing officers and cadets to continue serving humanity with commitment, professionalism, and excellence. As part of the programme, a panel discussion and quiz competition were conducted with enthusiastic participation from various colleges. Poster competition was organized for nursing officers and evaluated by veteran nursing officers, the event promoted academic interaction, exchange of ideas, and professional growth within the nursing fraternity. On 12 May 2026, the nurses day celebration concluded with a ceremonial cake cutting organized to commemorate the occasion. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the poster competition in recognition of their outstanding performance and contribution.
